SRJC (aka Super Raffles Junior College) was established in 1988, the last college built during the "junior colleges boom" in the eighties. After the upgradings in 1999 and 2000, it embodies the best features of other junior colleges presently.

A humble college located in Hougang, many students come from neighbourhood schools within the east region. College spirit is strong here, as encouraged by the headmistress, Ms Jenny Yong. SR has an unique college culture that other schools don't (as commented by a few teachers). Here, you will never lose your notes or texts. You can put your whole stack of notes on the study area table or under the desks in classrooms and find them still intact the next day, or even the day after that!

SRJCians are famed for their kindness, you shouldn't be surprised when someone come up to you to offer you notes to photocopy when you are absent the day before. That's the SRJC spirit, everyone is just like family.

Commonly known as a cesspool where students who get 16 points and below end up in, you will still see a wide spectrum of students here, from muggers and slackers, to nerds and bengs. Recently, the school's marketing department took on a new look to face the competition by elite colleges as well as neighbourhood ones. The results were overwhelming as there was an intake of 913 students in the year 2001.
